Cross-platform ROAS, without the spreadsheet ritual

Written by Uptimal, the team that builds and operates Upbuild and runs marketing analytics for multinational clients across the globe. Everything below reflects how the connector actually behaves in production.

The Friday ritual: four exports, one template, an hour of alignment, a number nobody fully trusts by Monday. Blended ROAS is the classic cross-platform question, and it is exactly the shape of work that tool-calling assistants dissolve: “spend, conversions and ROAS by platform, last 14 days, plus blended” fans out to Google, Meta, TikTok and Snapchat in parallel and returns as one table.

The part spreadsheets always fudged

Platform-reported conversions live in different attribution windows, so a naive blend compares apples to forecasts. The honest version states windows per platform, and, when you have it, triangulates against a neutral source: GA4 for on-site truth, CM360 where floodlights are the contract. An assistant with all of them in one conversation can show platform-reported and analytics-reported side by side and let the divergence be information instead of embarrassment.

Make it a habit, not a project

The practical pattern from our client work: one saved prompt for the daily pulse (totals plus movers), one for the weekly deep cut (by campaign, windows labelled, GA4 column alongside), and investigations as free-form follow-ups. When a view earns permanence, promote it to a living dashboard rather than a screenshot; that promotion step is what Enterprise exists for.

Ask your ad platforms directly, in Claude or ChatGPT.

Frequently asked questions

Which ROAS is the “real” one?

There is no single real one; platform-reported, analytics-reported and ad-server numbers answer different questions. The win is seeing them together with windows labelled, so the gap itself becomes analyzable.

Can this handle currency mixes across accounts?

Yes; account currencies come from the APIs and the assistant converts explicitly when asked, stating the rate basis instead of silently mixing.
